1. Buffer Manager: Page Life Expectancy
The page life expectancy counter measures how long pages stay in the buffer cache. The time is measured in seconds. The longer a page stays in memory the more likely SQL Server queries will not need to read from disk. As page life expectancy is increased so will the performance of the system.

2. Batch Requests/Second
Batch requests/second measure the number of batches SQL Server receives per second. This will indicate the amount of activity a SQL server is experiencing. A high number means that there are a higher amount of query executions. SQL Server optimization requires periodic measurements to determine SQL Server performance over time.

3. SQL Compilations/Second
