An increasing number of companies are designing and implementing Remote Access Networks, which allow users who are not physically connected to a Wide Area Network (WAN) or Local Area Network (LAN) to access the network’s servers, applications and databases or to participate in video conferencing and conference calls. The ability for a remote user to function as if they were in the next office dramatically improves overall efficiency while reducing total cost of ownership. Cisco Systems, the world’s largest internetworking vendor, is the pioneer of the enabling technologies for Remote Access Networks. This book will identify and explain all of the Cisco products necessary for designing and building a remote access network and integrating it with legacy systems. This book is a professional reference detailing all of the strategies, tactics and methods for designing, configuring and maintaining Cisco Remote Access Networks. It will include thorough discussions of all Cisco Access Servers and routers. * Demand for information on remote access networks is growing quickly at corporate and administrator level * Cisco remote access networks appeal to businesses as they provide efficient and secure connectivity at reduced cost * Book includes thorough discussions of all Cisco Access Servers and routers

Field Methods in Remote Sensing

Field Methods in Remote Sensing

$55

This concise, much-needed guide takes readers step by step through planning and executing field work associated with many different types of remote sensing projects. Remote sensing texts and research reports typically focus on data-analytic techniques while offering a dearth of information on procedures followed in the field. In contrast, this book provides clear recommendations for defining field work objectives, devising a valid sampling plan, finding locations using GPS, and selecting and using effective measurement techniques for field reflectance spectra and for studies of vegetation, soils, water, and urban areas. Appendices feature sample field note forms, an extensive bibliography on advanced and specialized methods, and online metadata sources.

How To Program Your Remote Control

Pretty much all the electronic components these days are accompanied by the remote controls. Programming the RC is as simple as it is to use it. Pretty much all these devices come with codes and some without codes. Today we're going to teach you the correct way to quickly programme yours.

Programing the remote with the codes, the first thing is to power up the component for which you are going to use, by pressing the Off and On button found on the component. Then find the Setup or the Code Search key on the RC. These buttons may alter dependent on make. Just hold on the setup or the code search key for five - ten seconds or until the light turns on. Again it relies on the numerous devices that the light will blink or be steady.

If you are programming for your TV, press the TELEVISION button on the remote or whichever electronic gizmo you are programming your remote for. Now use the numbers on your remote to go into the three or four digit code for the device . These codes are given in the manual given with the electronic contraption. If you have lost the instruction book these codes are easily available on the Web too. When you've found the code, enter it and you'll observe the light on your remote control has turned off. Now try using it to switch off your electric device with the remote and if you can do that, your remote has been programmed.

As for the remote controls that come without the codes, the programming is rather different and a little time consuming. After the light on the remote has turned on, start pressing the Up button for channels on your remote. You could have to try this many times, may be five - ten minutes. As quickly as the channel changes, your remote is programmed. Now turn your electric gizmo on and off from your remote to close programming.

But if you're not able to programme your remote with the Up channel button, try it with the Power button on the remote. Press the button a couple of times until the device you are programming turns off. When it does turn off, you have successfully programmed your RC.

AAA and Network Security for Mobile Access: Radius, Diameter, Eap, Pki and IP Mobility

AAA and Network Security for Mobile Access: Radius, Diameter, Eap, Pki and IP Mobility

$186.25

AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) describes a framework for intelligently controlling access to network resources, enforcing policies, and providing the information necessary to bill for services. AAA and Network Security for Mobile Access is an invaluable guide to the AAA concepts and framework, including its protocols Diameter and Radius. The authors give an overview of established and emerging standards for the provision of secure network access for mobile users while providing the basic design concepts and motivations. AAA and Network Security for Mobile Access: Covers trust, i.e., authentication and security key management for fixed and mobile users, and various approaches to trust establishment. Discusses public key infrastructures and provides practical tips on certificates management. Introduces Diameter, a state-of-the-art AAA protocol designed to meet today s reliability, security and robustness requirements, and examines Diameter-Mobile IP interactions. Explains RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Services) and its latest extensions. Details EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) in-depth, giving a protocol overview, and covering EAP-XXX authentication methods as well as use of EAP in 802 networks. Describes IP mobility protocols including IP level mobility management, its security and optimizations, and latest IETF seamless mobility protocols.
