What Is It That You Going To Need At Your Terrific Cocktail Party?
Organizing any celebration can be an unnerving task but working out how to plan a cocktail party can be a real challenge. Certainly, it has the same ingredients as other parties - plenty of appetizers, good friends and good food and drink but the key constituent is theselection of drinks that you choose.
A cocktail party can be a good way to get a gathering with a diverse array of friends and colleagues. Since cocktail parties are usually only for a few hours, you won't have to be concerned about allocating very much on drinks.
In order to have a great cocktail party, there is a bit of organization involved. Here's some tips:
1. Go over the guest list carefully. You should to invite an interesting mix of people that will enjoy mingling over cocktails and appetizers. A divergent group will make for interesting conversation. Make certain to invite a few of your more extroverted friends to get things moving.
2. Get as much of your food and decoration shopping done early as possible. Map out your menu early and buy the necessary components so you will have them on hand that day and not need to go out 10 minutes before guests arrive. What sort of drinks will you be serving? Ensure that you have the mixers and alcohol for any type of cocktail your guests might want. You can’t make great cocktails without a great Stand Mixers. Check out the great reviews at Stand Mixers
3. Decide if you will cook or you need help. A cocktail party doesn't really need anything extravagant in the way of food - some cheese and crackers can suffice, but if you need some great hors d’oeuvres you might want to look into hiring a caterer. You can have one come to your home and serve and clean up, or you can buy appetizers and pop them in the oven yourself. You could order gourmet appetizers online and have great eats delivered right to your home.
4. Do you need a bartender? Unless you enjoy standing behind the bar all night mixing drinks then you might want to consider hiring a bartender. Or allocate one of your friends that like to do that sort of thing, it's a good way to meet and talk to all at the party!
. Here's some of the tasks you can do ahead of time so that you can enjoy your party more:
- Set out any floral arrangements and center pieces
- Have your cocktail glasses shined and ready
- Select the music you want to listen to and load it into your CD player
- Re check your drinks and appetizer list and make sure you have what you need.
Your cocktail party can be a great time even for you, the host, if you are coordinated and plan ahead. Remember to make many lists so you don’t forget something at the last minute. Most importantly, relax and enjoy!
